Our company, then still J.
Wildeman & Co., was founded in 1918 by Jan Wildeman. On November 1
Jan Wildeman sat on his moped, loaded with haberdashery, for the first time. The first period he visited all customers like that. His effort was rewarded. In ten years our
company had to move to a larger building on the Stationsstraat in Waalwijk, where
eventually his son also started working in the business.
After the war, the demand for modern synthetic materials was big. Our company grew as a result of that and in 1964 there was again move to a new address in the industrial area
Zanddonk. In 1928 Van Leeuwen settled at the Langstraat, at that moment the center for the shoe industry.
Founder was Hartog Levie van Leeuwen, who unfortunately didn't return after his deportation in the Second World War. After the war his brother-in-law Richard Braun took over management. Under his inspiring leadership
Van Leeuwen Leder flourished.
Jan Denissen took over Van Leeuwen
Leder (in 1999) and J. Wildeman & Co (in 2003), after which a close synergy
emerged between the sister companies. In 2005 the third sister Wildeman
Benelux BV was founded, after which the three companies soon established a joint building on the
new industrial area Haven VII, recieving customers from every continent in the world.
Because of our excellent service, high-quality
products and reliable suppliers we are, as a real family business
a sought-after partner in our industry for over a hundred years.
